Leah Szántó has held a variety of professional writing positions in journalism, communications and the arts and has been responsible for a broad range of content creation, from advertising and communications copy to long-read features, both online and in print.
Leah has partnered with a wide range of organisations, stakeholders to deliver high quality projects in the private sector and across local and state government platforms in both regional NSW and Melbourne.
Additionally, Leah has edited and proofread non-fiction books, anthologies, magazines and an enormous array of professional correspondence. With an excellent ability to think critically, Leah can quickly identify the essence of a piece of writing and grasp underlying concepts and themes.
A first-generation Australian descended from a line of authors, journalists and bookshop owners, Leah has always been passionate about written expression and has a qualification in Professional Writing and Editing.
In 2024 Leah led the development of a podcast titled Stepping Up, exploring community leadership in the Bega Valley, on Djiringanj Country, where she has lived for 15 years. Leah's poetry collection So the Yarn Goes was published in an anthology titled enCounter in 2023, part of a multi-disciplinary project initiated by Orana Arts, designed to connect museums, creatives, and audiences in regional NSW.
